First, a heads up: Turkish coffee is not a kind of coffee, but a way of preparing unfiltered coffee. The caffeinated drink is popular mostly in the Middle East and parts of Eastern Europe. People there just love Turkish coffee, but some say it’s an acquired taste. The preparation involves boiling finely ground roasted coffee beans and served in cup where the grounds are allowed to settle. However, this method of preparation you’re about to see uses sand, and how it’s made is simply magical.
A small pot with a narrow opening called a cezve is used in the preparation. The guy places the pot on hot sand and lets the bottom dig in to get it heated.
The coffee just magically appears as it fills up the pot.
It’s just like watching a magic show!
