While it’s always great advice to keep your eye on the prize, one should also be mindful of the things that may prevent you from getting to that prize first. This video features another athlete celebrating her win before even actually winning, which cost her a medal in a race event.
American runner Molly Huddle became confident she was going to grab the bronze medal a split second before crossing the finish line during the 10,000-meter final race event at the 2015 IAAF World Championships in Beijing.
She raised her arms in celebration of her supposed third place finish, but fellow American Emily Infeld zoomed pass her to take home the bronze.
Kids, make sure you finish before celebrating or you’ll be in for a tough defeat.
